1/50 SCALE, RESIN MODEL BY VERKUYL c. 1966/67
There Were Only Three of These Made.I traded my very first model, a Raise Up DC7 in my possession since 1963, for this very rare model.In 2003 Ari Epstein found it on Ebay and he was willing to do a trade with me. In that same year a bit later, a shelf with this model on it came down and it seemed totally destroyed. The model was sent to Space models in the UK and look at it now....completely new!
The FH228 never substanciated because Fokker was not at all impressed by the production techniques of Fairchild. Sofar I have seen one other 228 model in the livery of West Coast Airlines.Since december 2009 I am in possession of two of these rare gems. The other one being a small scale FH28 proposition model.
